There are no permanent rooms; the camp offers large grounds for tents to be erected on-site (bring your own camping equipment) and occasionally basic self-contained single or double units called Bandas, subject to availability. The camp features a shared drop toilet, cold showers (no hot water, not a guarantee), campfires lit by staff members, places to sit, and 24-hour ranger protection to the rhythms of the river.

Situated 13–21 km from Masindi on the park’s boundary at Budongo Forest, these community-based Bandas offer simple accommodation with village activities such as craft making (basket weaving), village walks, cooking/dancing in traditional style, farming demos, and herbology tours, all the while supporting the community and granting access to chimp trekking, game drives, and boat safaris to the falls.
There are five to eight traditional thatched round Bandas (basic bedrooms for one to four guests), as well as dormitory rooms and camping; the maximum is six. The facilities are humble, with comfortable beds, sleeping under mosquito nets, fans, bathrooms (showers/toilets), and verandas.
The on-site restaurant offers fresh Ugandan food prepared over wood fires, matooke, posho/ugali, beans, grilled chicken/tilapia, salads, and breakfasts with tea/fruits. The bar serves local beers (Nile Special), soft drinks and the spirit Waragi.
Uwa Campsite
