This is a 14 days Rwanda classic that takes you on an adventurous journey for wildlife and nature, and historical views in Kigali city, Volcanoes National Park, Lake Kivu, Nyungwe National Park and Akagera National Park.

Trip description
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali Airport for a Kigali city tour
On day 1, you will be transferred by our company representative guide from Kigali Airport, and you will go for a city tour to the Rwanda Art Museum and the Kigali genocide memorial. You will then have lunch at a hotel in Kigali, and then you will go to the Kandt House Museum in the afternoon for a visit. After the visit, you will head to a lodge in Kigali for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 2: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
On day 2, you will have breakfast at the hotel in Kigali and then you will have visit to Kimironko market. After the visit, you will have lunch in Kigali, and then you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park. You will check into a lodge upon arrival and settle in. You will have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
On day 3, you will have breakfast, and then you will go for gorilla trekking. You will spend approximately 30 minutes to 7 hours searching for the gorillas. After spotting them, you will have to spend one hour with them as you observe their behaviours. You will then go back to the lodge for lunch.
You will be transferred from the lodge in the afternoon, and you will go for a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village for a cultural experience. You will meet with the guides and locals at this village and get to learn about the Rwandese culture and traditions. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
On day 4, you will have breakfast, and then you will go for a briefing at the park headquarters. You will then go for a golden monkey trek with an armed ranger guide. You will take approximately 30 minutes to 4 hours to find the golden monkeys. You will spend 1 hour with the golden monkeys, and you will observe the feeding, play and much more. You will then return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a hike to Dian Fossey’s Tomb. The hike will reward you with views of primates, birds and landscapes. You will then arrive at the Tomb where Dian Fossey was laid. You will also see the graves of numerous mountain gorillas, plus that of Digit, the most favourite gorilla of Dian Fossey. You will return to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 5: Hike to Mount Bisoke and transfer to Lake Kivu
On day 5, you will have an early morning breakfast, and then you will go for a hike to Mount Bisoke. You will ascend this mountain to reach the summit for approximately 4 hours, and you will have views of numerous attractions. You will arrive at the summit and have views of the neighbouring mountains and other attractions. You will then descend for about 2 hours, and the guide will drive you back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and then the guide will drive you to Lake Kivu, where you will check into a lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 6: Coffee tour at Lake Kivu
On day 6, you will have breakfast and then be transferred to Lake Kivu. You will go for a boat ride to Nyamirundi Island, where you will conduct a coffee tour. You will learn about the coffee-making process from the locals, and then you will return to the lodge for lunch.
You will have the afternoon at the lodge, and then you will be served dinner in the evening, and you will retire to bed.
Day 7: Boat cruise and swimming
On day 7, you will have breakfast and then you will go for a boat cruise at Lake Kivu, where you will spot several birds and tour the islands. You will then go back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go swimming at Lake Kivu since it is free from bilharzia and wild animals. You will be returned to the lodge after enjoying the swimming at the lake. You will relax, have dinner and retire to bed.
Day 8: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
On day 8, after having breakfast, you will be transferred to Nyungwe National Park, where you will check into a lodge upon arrival. At the lodge, you will have lunch, relax, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk
On day 9, you will go for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest after having breakfast. You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees after spotting them, and you will return to the lodge after observing their behaviours and taking pictures.
You will have a canopy walk in the afternoon on the suspended bridge of about 70m high and 160m long. You will spot birds, primates and natural sights while at the bridge. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 10: Bird watching
On day 10, you will have breakfast, and then you will leave the lodge and go with a guide for a bird-watching experience. Nyungwe National Park is home to about 300 bird species, and you will have bird views in various birding trails, for example, the Karamba trail. The guide will return you to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will spend the afternoon at leisure at the lodge, and in the evening, you will be served dinner, and you will retire to bed.
Day 11: Transfer to Akagera National Park for a night game drive
On day 11, you will have breakfast and then the guide will transfer you to Akagera National Park. You will arrive and check into a lodge. You have lunch and relax.
You will be transferred from the lodge to the park headquarters for a briefing. The guide will then take you on a night game drive lasting for about 2 to 3 hours. You will spot nocturnal animals like lions, leopards, hyenas and many more. The guide will return you to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 12: Morning game drive and a boat cruise at Lake Ihema
On day 12, you will have breakfast, and then you will go for a morning game drive. You will carry out the game drive for about 3 to 4 hours, and you will enjoy amazing wildlife sights. The guide will then return you to the lodge for lunch.
You will go for a boat cruise at Lake Ihema, which will last for approximately 1 hour, and you will have a glance at crocodiles, hippos and many more. You will be returned to the lodge, where you will be served dinner, and you will retire to bed.
Day 13: Behind-the-scenes tour
On day 13, you will have breakfast, and then you will leave the lodge and go for a briefing. You will then go for a behind-the-scenes tour in Akagera National Park. After you will be returned to the lodge for lunch, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 14: Transfer back to Kigali Airport
On day 14, after having an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kigali Airport to catch a flight.
