A 5 Day Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari gives you a perfect taste of northern Tanzania’s wildlife. The safari takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It’s a compact but rich Tanzanian safari mixing forests, plains and a volcanic crater, with great photography and wildlife sightings every day.
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park.
Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or the airport; he will welcome you and then brief you about this Tanzania safari. After the briefing, start your journey to Lake Manyara National Park, which takes approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy your picnic lunch in the park.
After lunch, go for the afternoon game drive in the park’s plains; this is where you will spot many different animal species, including impalas, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, and many others, without forgetting the bird species. During the experience, you will also spot and admire the tree-climbing lions. Later, drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then start on your journey to Serengeti National Park through Olduvai Gorge, which takes about 3 to 4 hours. You will experience Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site that is located in the eastern Serengeti Plains, where early human fossils were first discovered. It has a wonderful landscape that resulted from the same tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. After enjoying your lunch, drive to Central Serengeti National Park for unique wildlife spotting and then to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, meet your safari guide and then go to the Serengeti’s wilderness corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. With your picnic lunch along with you, during the experience you will take your leisure while exploring this world heritage site, which has the earth’s largest concentration of plain game.
After lunch, you will proceed with your game drive experience to explore the areas that you have missed during the morning game drive, to watch the Big Five mammals (rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants) and other animals like giraffes, antelopes, warthogs, zebras, wildebeests and many bird species. Later dinner and relaxation at your lodge.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then start on your journey to Ngorongoro Crater with the perfect en route game-viewing experience. Ngorongoro Crater is the best place in Tanzania to see the black rhinos, many prides of lions, many colourful flamingos and a variety of water birds.
Other animal species to see in Ngorongoro include hyenas, antelopes, cheetahs, zebras and many small mammals. After a long day’s drive, go to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha.
After an early breakfast, check out from your lodge with your picnic lunch and then transfer for a Tanzanian tour of the crater floor that is home to many plains game and then the Big Five mammals. Spend half a day within the crater and enjoy lunch at one of the best picnic spots in the park. Later in the late afternoon, drive to Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport in time for your onwards flight.
