Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – rhino tracking

You will be welcomed by our driver guide from your hotel or Entebbe airport, have a short briefing about the safari, and later start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours’ drive, and on the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and then continue with another stopover for en route lunch. Upon arrival in Murchison Falls National Park, you will drive directly to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy views of the waterfall, and later drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver-guide to transfer to the park for a morning game drive, where you will be blessed with views of animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs, Jackson’s hartebeest, hippos, and oribi, among others.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch, then take an interesting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, which starts at around 2:00 pm and takes about 2 to 3 hours. During the boat cruise, you will be able to view hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water and spot water birds, including fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, turacos, hornbills, and cormorants, among others. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and departure to Kampala/Entebbe

You will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver-guide to transfer to Budongo Forest for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking through the forest in search of the chimpanzees, which takes about 2 to 5 hours, depending on where they slept the previous night. During trekking, you will be able to spot other primates like the red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, blue monkeys, and different forest birds. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them, learn more about their habits, watch them feed, play, hunt, fight, take photos, and record videos.
