6 Days Gorilla And Chimpanzee Trekking In Rwanda
This is a 6 days gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda, where you will engage in several activities at Volcanoes National Park, which will include a gorilla trek, golden monkey trek, hike to Dian Fossey Tomb and a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village. Before the arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you will first visit the Kigali genocide memorial and the Kandt House Museum in Kigali. Chimpanzee trekking will be done in Nyungwe National Park, and you will also have a canopy walk at the suspended bridge.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali airport to Volcanoes National Park
A guide will meet and greet you at Kigali Airport, and then you will be taken for a city tour to the Kigali genocide memorial and Kandt house museum. You will have lunch at a hotel in Kigali, and then you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking
You will be served breakfast early in the morning at the lodge, and then the guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing with your packed lunch. You will then head to the forest to see gorillas will take about 30 minutes to 7 hours. You will spend one hour with the gorillas and you will observe how they feed, play and much more. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
You will be served breakfast, and then you will go for a golden monkey trek after the briefing. You will be accompanied by an armed ranger guide into the forest to find the golden monkeys, and you will spend only one hour with the golden monkeys after spotting them. The search for the golden monkeys takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours. You will have to experience a lot about how these primates behave, and then you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village for a cultural experience about the history, cultures and traditions of the Rwandese that you will learn from the locals that you will find there. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Hike to Dian Fossey Tomb and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After having breakfast that will be served at the lodge, you will go for a briefing about the hike to Dian Fossey Tomb, and you will receive the hiking gear after the briefing. You will then start the hike that will reward you with sights of primates and bird species. You will then have the opportunity to see the tomb of Dian Fossey. The guide will then return you to the lodge for lunch.
You will check out of the lodge after lunch, and then the guide will transfer you to Nyungwe National Park, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk
After being served an early morning breakfast, you will eat it, and then the guide will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be told details concerning chimpanzee trekking, and then you will start the trek. You will be escorted by an armed ranger guide, and this will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours to spot the chimpanzees. You will spend one hour with them and get to know how they behave. You will then return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a canopy walk at the suspended bridge that will take approximately 2 hours, and you will be able to spot wildlife and other attractions in the park, including the Nyungwe forest. You will get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
