Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Your safari begins as our driver guide arrives at your chosen Nairobi address to start your drive to Ol Pejeta. Your drive from Nairobi aims for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which lies in Laikipia County at a distance of between 4 and 5 hours.
You will stay at the lodge to check in and then receive lunch. As the afternoon begins, you will participate in a safari trip to discover the animals of the region, such as elephants, buffalo, lions, rhinos and cheetahs. Dinner and an overnight stay come after you return to the lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee visit and game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy
The first activity after breakfast is your visit to Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which cares for rescued and abandoned chimpanzees. You can discover how they protect chimpanzees while experiencing these animals living in their natural habitat.
After visiting chimpanzees, you will explore the game drive in Ol Pejeta while searching for Big Five animals and tour the rhino sanctuary. Return to your lodge to enjoy restful moments before meals and sleeping time.
Day 3: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game viewing session.
You will depart from the lodge early to reach Lake Nakuru National Park, which is known for its flamingos and abundant populations of white and black rhinos. The journey from central Nairobi to the park requires 4 to 5 hours to complete and presents several beautiful views during the trip.
When you reach the location, you will check in at the lodge and eat lunch before settling down. You will participate in a late afternoon game drive that lets you see flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, buffalo and giraffes, along with possible leopard sightings if you are lucky. You will return to the lodge after game driving to enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Early in the morning, have breakfast, then travel to the Maasai Mara National Reserve early. On your way, you will have lunch in Narok town, after which you will continue to your lodge. This journey requires a 5- to 6-hour drive.
When you arrive at Maasai Mara, you will access the lodge and then start your evening game drive to look for elephants, buffalo, antelopes and wildlife predators such as lions and leopards. When you return from the game drive, you will eat dinner and end your day at the lodge.
Day 5: Full day game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve
You will begin your day with breakfast before starting an extended game drive across the Maasai Mara’s extensive plains. You will drive through various parts of the reserve to spot both the main and smaller animals, like the Big Five, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes and zebras.
During your visit from July to October, you can watch millions of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River as predators are waiting to feast on them.
After picnicking at the reserve, you will continue your game drive during the afternoon hours. Afterwards, you will go back to the lodge to unwind before eating dinner and sleeping.
Day 6: Morning game drive and cultural visit
At dawn, you will explore the park to spot lions, leopards, and hyenas before they vanish into their resting places. There are several animals you will observe, including giraffes and zebras.
The lodge provides breakfast along with moments to rest. You will take part in a Maasai cultural learning experience to explore their life customs and culture after your afternoon schedule. When the cultural visit ends, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 7: Transfer back to Nairobi
You will have your breakfast and check out of the lodge before continuing to Nairobi. Your driver guide will take you to Narok town for lunch and to Nairobi for your preferred drop-off or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport departures.
