7 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari

This 7 Days Kenya and Tanzania safari leads you to one of the most visited safari destinations on African safaris; that is, a visit to the Maasai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. This trip often involves starting in Nairobi, Kenya, with a few days of game drives in Kenya before crossing into Tanzania for extra game drives in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. It usually ends in Arusha, Tanzania, or returns to Nairobi.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from the airport and Transfer to the hotel in Nairobi

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you will meet our tour guide, who will brief you about your trip. After a brief introduction and overview of your upcoming trip, you will be taken to your hotel in Nairobi, the colourful, vibrant capital city known as the “Green City in the Sun”.

As you make your way through the city, you will be able to see the skyline of Nairobi, the busy streets, and beautiful gardens for your first time. After checking into your hotel and taking some time to rest after your flight, depending on your arrival time, you might either rest at the hotel, visit something nearby, or have dinner at one of Nairobi’s many outstanding restaurants.

Day 2: Drive from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Reserve

On this day, enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then start a rewarding journey to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arriving in the afternoon, check into your booked camp, rest and have a hot lunch. After lunch, go for cultural experiences where you will have opportunities to visit and learn about the local Masai culture.

Day 3: Full day of game drives in the Kenyan park

Enjoy breakfast at the camp, followed by both morning and afternoon game drives in the park. During your game drive adventure, expect to watch animals, including the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalo. Day 6: Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area

On Day 6 of the trip, you will be transferred to Ngorongoro Crater, and on your journey to the park, you will take a look at the rolling farmlands, colourful villages, and sweeping plains of the Great Rift Valley. After your morning breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an amazing game drive. The crater floor has some of the best wildlife viewing in all of East Africa, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), along with herds of wildebeest, zebras, hyenas, hippos and many different kinds of gazelles. Later in the afternoon, you will ascend back to the rim of the crater for your drive to your lodge or camp overlooking the crater for your evening at leisure, taking in the stunning views or relaxing by the fire listening to the sounds of the African night.
