5 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari: 5 Days Gorillas and Wildlife safari package is designed for travellers who are interested in a short Uganda safari to see mountain gorillas and view general wildlife in two of Uganda’s national parks. The 5 days tour takes you to Queen Elizabeth National park is the second largest national park in Uganda and is located in the western part of Uganda, it is also one of the most visited parks in Uganda and where tree climbing lions can be spotted and to Bwindi National Park which is located in south western part of Uganda and a home to about half of the remaining population of mountain gorillas for gorilla trekking.

Detailed Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Our representative will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport, Kampala or your place of accommodation in the early morning hours after breakfast. The journey from Entebbe or Kampala to western Uganda will take between 7 to 8 hours, however along the way, you will have a stoppage for equator crossing experience in Kayabwe, take photographs and continue to Mbarara town the land of honey and milk where you will have lunch from and then continue your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening and proceed to your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise
Morning Game Drive: You will set off early from your lodge, take or pack breakfast and go for an early morning game drive to spot early risers, nocturnal mammals and predators before they retreat to their hideouts. Expect to spot hippos, buffaloes, antelopes, leopards, lions and a collection of both resident and migratory birds. The game drive takes about 3 hours and will be done in the Kasenyi or Mweya plains. After the game drive, you will then start your journey to Kampala.
Afternoon Boat cruise: After lunch, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, typically starting around 2:00 PM. During the cruise, you will have the opportunity to see a high concentration of hippos in the water, as well as crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs along the banks. Bird lovers can also spot a variety of species, including the saddle-billed stork, herons, cormorants, and fish eagles, among others. After the boat cruise, you will return to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will meet your driver-guide and depart on a brief game drive and the famous climbing lion experience in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park while transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This early game drive offers a prime chance to spot predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas before they retreat for the day. While passing through the Ishasha sector, you may sight tree-climbing lions relaxing upon fig tree branches while hunting grazing antelopes, You may also encounter a variety of bird species such as the black-bellied bustard, grey-capped warbler, black vulture, and grey-backed fiscal. After the brief game drive, you will have lunch en route and continue with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon reaching the park, continue to your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Visiting Batwa Pygmy Community
Gorilla Trekking: This morning marks the highlight of your Uganda safari with an early breakfast at your accommodation before heading to the park offices for a mandatory 7:30 am briefing and registration conducted by the Warden and Rangers. By 8:00 am, you will begin your gorilla trek through the steep, dense jungle. The trek can last between 3 to 8 hours or even a full day, requiring physical fitness. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing and photographing them while following your guide’s instructions. Afterwards, you will return to the starting point where your driver will transfer you back to your hotel for lunch.
Visiting Batwa Pygmy Community: You will head out to visit the Batwa Pygmy cultural community in the evening, where they will demonstrate to you the forest way of life. These are the traditional forest occupants, but were relocated elsewhere by the government to allow smoother gorilla conservation activities since they often had conflicts with the gorillas. Later, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala: After the game drive, you will start your journey back to Kampala with a stopover in stopover at Igongo cultural Centre in Mbarara for lunch and another stopover at Kayabwe for the equator crossing experience in case you missed it on your first day. Then continue your journey to Kampala. Your driver will drop you off in Kampala at your preferred location or at Entebbe International Airport for your next flight.
