Detailed itinerary safari
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On the 1st day of the safari, you will be transferred from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stopover at the Equator Monument and Mpambire Drum Makers. You will have an enroute lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara and then get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening for dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking
On the 2nd day of the safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge and get transferred to the park headquarters with a packed lunch and water. You will be guided on how to behave during the gorilla trek, and after allocation of a gorilla family, you will go for the trek with the guide. You will take about 30 minutes to 7 hours while trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Once you spot the gorillas, you will have one hour with them, have views of how they behave, play, feed and also capture your videos and pictures for reference and memories. The guide will then take you back to the lodge. When you get to the lodge, you will have a bath, relax and then go for dinner and the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
On the 3rd day of the safari, you will have breakfast and then check out of the lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will cross to Rwanda via the Cyanika border, and you will get to a hotel for lunch. Immediately after lunch, you will have a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village near Volcanoes National Park. You will meet with the people in this village and get to visit their community projects, learn about the Rwandese culture, learn how they prepare their local dishes, and they will also perform their traditional dance while on a Rwanda Safari. The guide will then transfer you to Volcanoes National Park for dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
On the 4th day of the safari, you will have breakfast, and lunch will be packed for you, plus Mineral water. You will head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. You will receive a guide and then head for gorilla trekking. You will trek for about 1 to 7 hours before you find the gorillas. After finding the gorillas, you will have one hour with them. You will have an experience with them, see how they feed, play with others. You will report back to the lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Goma
On the 5th day of the safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge and after you will check out. The Congo safari guide will come for you, and you will be transferred to Goma, and when you get there, you will head for lunch and then be transferred to Virunga National Park for dinner and a night stay.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park
On the 6th day of the safari, you will have an early morning breakfast and a packed lunch. You will head to the headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will conduct gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park. In Virunga National Park, you are allowed to stay with the gorillas for only one hour after spotting them. Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours to spot the gorillas. While in the natural habitat of the gorillas in Virunga National Park, you will have access to a guide who will inform you more about these primates. You will observe and find out some information by yourself. You will be allowed to take pictures of the gorillas in Virunga National Park, and then you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.
Day 7: Transfer back to Rwanda and depart to Kampala
On the 7th day of the safari, you will have an early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge in Virunga National Park and then the guide will transfer you back to Rwanda via Goma. You will continue to Uganda from Rwanda via Cyanika border, and you will have an enroute lunch. You will then proceed to Kampala to a hotel or Entebbe airport for a flight.
