Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (“4 hrs”)
Depending on your pick-up location, our safari driver-guide will brief you about the safari. Then, afterwards, set off on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you will enjoy rewarding views of beautiful countryside, rolling hills, terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery and more. Upon arrival in the park, check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge (luxury) or Four Gorilla Lodge (mid-range).

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and departure
After an early morning breakfast, carry your packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be escorted by the park ranger into the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas. The trek may take 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorilla is located. As you are trekking, you will have a chance to view other primate species, like L’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different plant species, and birds, among others.
On finding the gorilla family, you will be allowed one hour to spend with them in their natural habitat, which gives you a great opportunity to observe their habits and behaviours, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos, and capture videos. After a great encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the meeting point, where you will be rewarded with a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. Then, meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to the hotel.
