5 Days Ngamba And Bwindi (Double Trek)
The 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi ( double trek) is a Uganda safari from Entebbe airport to Ngamba Island using a boat that takes about 45 minutes. You will meet the chimpanzees on this island and spend some time with them. You will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a double gorilla trek in the Nkuringo and Rushaga sectors. You will meet different gorilla families in these two sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will also have a cultural experience with the Batwa in their communities. The Safari will end in Kampala.

Detailed itinerary of the 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi ( double trek)
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe airport and transfer to Ngamba Island
On the first day of the 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi (double trek), you will be picked up by a guide from Entebbe airport, and you will be transferred to the Pier in Entebbe, where you will start the boat cruise to Ngamba Island. This trip to Ngamba Island takes about 45 minutes by boat. When you get to the island, you will get the opportunity to see the chimpanzees that are sheltered on this island.
You will have the opportunity to feed them and analyse their behaviours. You will take pictures of these chimpanzees and capture a lot of moments. You will then be transferred by the guide from the island to the hotel, where you will have lunch. You will have lunch and relax. At the very hotel, you will have dinner in the evening and spend the night there.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On the second day of the 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi (double trek), you will have breakfast at the Protea hotel, and then the guide will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have a stop at Mpambire drum makers for a cultural experience. You will observe how the drums are made and then go ahead with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The next stop will be at Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre. You will have lunch and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will arrive in the evening, check into a lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 3: First gorilla trek in the Nkuringo sector and Batwa cultural experience
On the third day of the 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi ( double trek), you will be provided breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing with your packed lunch. You will be briefed about your first gorilla trek that you will carry out in the Nkuringo sector in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will receive a guide who will escort you to the Nkuringo sector, and the guide will be armed for security reasons. The guide will direct you on the trails to follow, and when you find the gorillas, you will stay with the gorillas for 1 hour. Finding them takes about 1 to 7 hours, depending on their location in the park. You will have an hour with the gorillas observing their way of life, and after taking photos, you will return to the lodge.
After relaxing at the lodge, you will be transferred to the Batwa community for a cultural encounter with the Batwa. You will learn about their way of life, culture and traditions. You will get the idea of how they prepare their local dishes, and then you will also be taught their food gathering and ancient hunting skills. The guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 4: Second gorilla trekking in Rushaga sector
On the fourth day of the 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi ( double trek), you will have a transfer from the lodge to the park headquarters with a meal packed for you for lunch. You will first have breakfast before being transferred to the park headquarters. You will be briefed at the park headquarters by the park wardens on how you will conduct the second gorilla trek and from where. You will be allocated a ranger guide and then toy with head to the Rushaga sector for the gorilla trek.
You will spend 1 to 7 hours trekking to spot the gorillas. You will come across other wildlife species as you are in the Rushaga sector. You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas, and you will get all the details about them from the guide. You will take photos of the gorillas, and then you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Depart to Kampala
On the last day of the 5 days Ngamba and Bwindi ( double trek), you will have breakfast at the lodge, and then you will check out of the lodge. The guide who will transfer you to Kampala will pick you up from the lodge, and you will start the journey. You will have lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre and then also stop at Kayabwe, where the equator monument is, for photos and souvenirs.
